My name is Taya Combs, and I am your child's Third grade teacher. I am very excited to have your child in my classroom this year. We are going to have an awesome time traveling through the academic standards and soaring through exemplary work. This year we will be implementing the new Common Core State Standards. Third grade is a testing grading. This means that we will be taking the Standardized State Test. We have alot of information to learn this year, so I am asking that all my parents be willing to work at home as much as possible with your child, as I work at school.
This year is the beginning of my 7th year teaching. Last year I taught Second grade at Dawson Elementary. This year I am honored to teach the Third Grade. Also, last year I recieved that great honor or representing my school, Dawson Elementary, as their 2011-2012 Teacher of the Year! In my class, you child will be moving around, dancing, learning, laughing, exploring, soaring to new heights, and bloosoming into a productive citizen. I love to have fun! It shows in my classroom. I will be using several learning strategies and techniques to engage every child.
